What should we check before moving existing customer accounts into a fuel ordering app?

Before moving customer accounts, agree on which records will move, how accounts will be matched and who checks the result. Use a small sample that includes more than one delivery address. Custom Fuel App describes customer ordering and an office dashboard; confirm your import scope separately instead of assuming every old record transfers.

Start with a small sample

Your office knows which accounts are easy and which need care. For the demo, try a customer with two drop sites. Add similar names on separate accounts and an account with an old phone number. Use made-up records in the demo; keep customer information out of an open presentation.

Ask the team to show which source fields are needed and where each one would appear. Keep the old account number on your check sheet. Staff need to know they are looking at the same account in both places.

Check the account from both sides

The product's public ordering guide describes a customer placing an order and the office receiving it in the web portal. [1] Use that path to test your sample. Have a staff member check that each order is on the right account and goes to the right address.

Custom Fuel App also says payment options can be customized by customer. [2] Ask who will check those settings for each sample account. Moving a name and address does not prove the payment choices are right.

Write down what stays behind

Ask separately about order history, documents, account notes and attachments. Mark each item as included, excluded or awaiting an answer. Agree who will keep access to records that remain in the old system and when the final comparison happens.

Does owning the customer list tell us what an import includes?

No. Ask which records can move and which cannot. Keep the old records until your team has checked the new ones and agreed what to keep.

Review Custom Fuel App with the employee who knows your account records.
